NO DATA CENTER MHC

Six districts, six supervisors

Contact your representative

Henry County is governed by a six-person Board of Supervisors. One of them represents your street — and right now they are deciding what data center rules will look like.

1

Find your district

Pick your magisterial district below. Not sure which one you live in? See the note at the bottom of this page.

2

Say it in your own words

We provide a draft, but edit it. Offices weigh a personal note from a constituent far more heavily than identical copies of the same letter.

3

Then show up

Email is good. Standing in the room is better — it already worked once, on July 29.

Dear Chairman Jim Adams,

I live in the Blackberry District and I am writing about the data center zoning rules the Planning Commission is now redrafting.

I was glad the Board listened on July 29 and sent the previous draft back to the drawing board. I am asking you to make sure whatever replaces it is strict and specific rather than a set of minimum guidelines.

The protections that matter most to me are:

  1. Closed-loop cooling only, with no access to our public water supply.
  2. A binding noise limit measured at the property line, including low-frequency noise.
  3. A written guarantee that data center power costs cannot be passed on to Henry County ratepayers.
  4. Independent water testing before, during, and after any construction.

[Add a sentence here about why this matters to you personally — that is the part that gets remembered.]

Thank you for your time and for representing our district.

Sincerely,
[Your name]

Not sure which district you live in?

We deliberately do not guess. Magisterial district boundaries do not follow town names or ZIP codes, and sending you to the wrong supervisor wastes your effort and their time. To confirm your district:

  • Call the County Administrator's Office at (276) 634-4601 and ask which magisterial district your address falls in.
  • Check your voter registration at the Virginia Department of Elections ↗, which lists the districts tied to your registered address.
  • Or simply write to all six. Nothing stops you from contacting the whole Board, and on a county-wide zoning question every one of them votes.

Speak at a Board meeting

When
Fourth Tuesday of each month, opening at 3:00 PM. Public hearings are heard at 6:00 PM — that is the session to attend if you plan to speak.
Next meeting
Tuesday, August 25, 2026
Where
County Administration Building — Summerlin Meeting Room
3300 Kings Mountain Road, Collinsville, VA

To be placed on the agenda, contact the County Administrator's Office at (276) 634-4601 at least 7 days before the meeting date.

The December 2026 meeting is scheduled for December 15.

How to speak at a hearing

Contact details for all 6 supervisors are reproduced from each supervisor's official page on henrycountyva.gov ↗. If you find something out of date, the county's page is authoritative — not ours.
